Introduction
This report provides a basic summary of the activities carried out during the internship program
During the two months period of my internship training at Sabya Governorate municipality in
Saudi Arabia, I was given an assignment to work in the Human resources operations, Secretary
Roles and Warehousing. The main objective of this report is to summarizing the following key
points; the work I completed during the internship, the new skills I College of Administration
and Finance Sciences learned, the meetings I attended, the difficulties I encountered, and the
insightful experiences I had.
Chapter 1: Description of the Company
Located in Saudi Arabia, Sabya Governorate Municipality, in Jazin region which is one of the 13
regions that are as a result of the legal and administrative divisions intended to foster proper
governance and resource allocation within the country. Each of the Regions is headed by a prince
from the royal family, who is assisted by a Regional Council comprising of governors within the
region. The council is headed by the Emir, who is appointed by the king, and this rank is
equivalent to that of a minister (
0minister ).
There are a number of governorates in each region, making a total of 118 governorates in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia overall, and there are 285 municipal councils inside these
governorates. Ten residents and local civic leaders make up the council’s membership, together
with the heads of government agencies and sectorial ministry heads in the area. The council
oversees socioeconomic growth and upholds law and order. Master plans are created by local
and regional councils.
Sabya Governorate Municipality is located in the Southwestern area, with a mixed population
comprising of both urban and rural natives, and this number tends to shift as a result of migration
and sometimes the shifting demographics. The main pillars of Sabya’s economy are agriculture,
fishing, and trade. The area’s closeness to the Red Sea facilitates fishing. In order to raise living
4

conditions and encourage economic expansion, the government makes investments in the
construction and upkeep of infrastructure in each governorate. Along with its unique cultural
legacy and attractions, Sabya offers leisure spaces, historic places, natural landscapes, and
traditional festivals. Local authorities chosen by the federal government to manage the
governorate are in charge of public services among other facets of administration.
Overseeing the administration and growth of the Sabya governorate in the Jizan area is the Sabya
Governorate Municipality, a local administrative body in Saudi Arabia. Its duties include zoning
laws, urban planning, granting permits and licenses, supplying basic municipal services, carrying
out programs to improve public safety, health, and environmental protection, and encouraging
community involvement. The municipality is responsible for guaranteeing the accessibility and
sufficiency of public services and infrastructure, including utilities, roads, transportation
networks, healthcare, education, and recreational and cultural facilities. By starting initiatives
and programs that cater to the needs and goals of locals, it also plays a significant part in
promoting community development.
These projects might entail funding entrepreneurship, employment development, economic
expansion, social welfare program assistance, and working with neighborhood companies, nonprofits, and others. The municipality is managed by designated officials who supervise its
operations and decision-making procedures. These officials collaborate with pertinent
government agencies to ensure that the municipality’s goals and policies are in line with the
larger development aims and policies. All things considered, the Sabya Governorate
Municipality is vital to the Jizan region’s ability to support sustainable development, deliver
basic services, and improve the general well-being of its citizens.

In order to raise living

conditions and encourage economic expansion, the government makes investments in the
construction and upkeep of infrastructure in each governorate.
